Overview

heatmaps.com.au is committed to protecting your privacy in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

This Privacy Policy explains what information heatmaps.com.au collects when you visit the Site, how that information is used, and how it is protected. By using this Site, you consent to the practices described in this policy.

If you have any questions or concerns about this policy or our data practices, please contact us.

02

What Information We Collect

We collect two categories of information:

Automatically collected information — when you visit the Site, our analytics and infrastructure services automatically record certain technical information, including:

Voluntarily provided information — if you contact us via our contact form, email, newsletter form, or mortgage broker referral form, we collect the information you choose to provide. This may include your first and last name, email address, mobile phone number, the page or property-data location from which you enquired, and your consent to be contacted.

We do not collect sensitive personal information such as financial details, government identifiers, health information, or payment card data.

03

How We Use Your Information

Information collected on this Site is used solely for the following purposes:

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party for marketing purposes.

04

Cookies & Tracking Technologies

heatmaps.com.au uses cookies and similar tracking technologies to analyse traffic and improve the user experience. A cookie is a small text file placed on your device by your browser when you visit a website.

The Site uses the following types of cookies:

You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings. Note that disabling cookies may affect some functionality of the Site, including the interactive map. Instructions for managing cookies are available in your browser's help documentation.

We do not use cookies to serve personalised advertising or to track you across other websites.

05

Third Party Services

heatmaps.com.au relies on the following categories of third-party services to operate. Each service processes data in accordance with its own privacy policy:

We take reasonable steps to ensure that any third-party service we use maintains appropriate data security standards, but we are not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party providers.

06

Affiliate Programs & Referral Tracking

heatmaps.com.au participates in affiliate and referral programs. When you click an affiliate link on this Site and subsequently make a purchase or sign up for a service, the affiliate network may set a tracking cookie on your device to attribute the referral and calculate any commission owed.

For ordinary affiliate-link tracking, cookies are set by the affiliate network and heatmaps.com.au generally receives only an anonymised notification that a qualifying action occurred.

Where you deliberately submit a referral form, heatmaps.com.au stores the details entered and discloses them to the partner named on that form so the partner can respond to your enquiry. The current mortgage referral form sends enquiries to Strategic Investor Group. The form does not authorise Heatmaps or the referral partner to add you to unrelated marketing lists.

Affiliate tracking does not affect the data, analysis, or editorial independence of the content on this Site.

07

Data Storage & Security

heatmaps.com.au takes reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the information we hold from misuse, loss, unauthorised access, modification, and disclosure. These measures include secure server infrastructure and access controls.

However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

We retain voluntarily provided information only for as long as reasonably necessary to deliver, respond to, administer, and audit the enquiry, and to meet applicable legal obligations. You may contact us to request access, correction, or deletion.

08

Links to External Websites

This Site may contain links to external websites that are not operated by heatmaps.com.au. If you click a third-party link, you will be directed to that third party's site. We strongly advise you to review the privacy policy of every site you visit.

heatmaps.com.au has no control over and accepts no responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party sites or services.

09

Children's Privacy

This Site is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will promptly delete that information.
